For those that do not know, a MozCafe event is an informal meeting of Mozillians. More information can be found here.
This was the MozCafe event ever in Nigeria. It was organised by OAU Firefox Club at the Obafemi Awolowo University. The event was organised on the 11th of September, 2015 at Jo’s Indulge, New Buka, Obafemi Awolowo University.

The event started at 6:00pm and the attendees introduced themselves to each other. You could feel the high energy for all of the students! We had attendees from the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences and The Faculty of Technology. After the introduction, the Club Lead went ahead to talk about the FSA program, Firefox Clubs, and the Club Executive Board.
Five Club Executive positions were available and the attendees moved swiftly to fill these positions.
The positions each person occupied are as followed:
- Marketing Lead – Ikenna Nwankiti
- Publicity Lead – David Adesina
- Membership Lead – Deji Odumuyiwa
- Developer Relations Lead – Stephen Solomon
- Web Education Lead – Ugonna Utulor
After the Club Executive positions were filled, we discussed about Firefox OS, App of the Month Challenge, Windows 10 Campaign and MozTour. After that we moved into the Question and Answers section and the attendees asked questions based on what was discussed.
We had Pizza as refreshment and it was delicious :). Overall such a successful event meeting and starting a new club!
